Join us on a down east adventure. We're traveling
by car, bike, snowmobile, kayak and of course on foot.
We're installing dozens of waypoint interpretive panels across
downeast Maine. Geocachers and folks who want to get a closer look
will find clues to our special sites here. Maps,
podcasts, links and more will aid you on your way.
A few ideas to make your geo-tour rewarding:
- Bring a global positioning system (GPS) and
a compass - we have points of interest, geo-caches, backwoods trails
and more fore you to dowload. You can always buy these here if
you don't already have them.
- Wear outdoors clothing - our rustic trails range in challenge
from easy to difficult, but we'll let you know before you start.
- Bikes, kayaks and canoes will extend your range.
You can rent them here if you want to travel light.
- Ask directions - One Maine Humorist has said.
"People come to Maine to eat lobster and ask for directions." Asking
is a great way to meet people and learn about our many secret haunts.
